Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 27, 2026

Der Promptus is a prompt management tool available as a Chrome extension and web application. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to being transparent about what data we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we store your email address. This is used solely for authentication and to identify your account.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card details. Stripe may collect payment data in accordance with their own privacy policy.

Prompts and variables (Pro users). If you use the cloud sync feature, your saved prompts and variables are stored on our servers so they can be synced across devices. This data belongs to you.

What we don't collect

Local storage

The Chrome extension stores your prompts, variables, and preferences locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage. Free users' data never leaves their browser. Pro users can optionally sync data to our servers.

Permissions

The extension requests access to specific AI chat websites (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Mistral) to insert prompts into the chat input. It does not access any other websites or read page content beyond detecting the chat input field.

Data retention

Your data is stored for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Local data can be cleared by uninstalling the extension.

Security

All communication between the extension and our servers uses HTTPS encryption. Authentication tokens are stored securely in Chrome's local storage. We use industry standard practices to protect your data.

Children

Der Promptus is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify users through the extension or by email.
